QQI Applicants

Dorset College welcomes applications from learners who hold a QQI Level 5/6 Major Award (8 Modules).  The major award has a credit value of 120 (15 credits per module). Minimum entry requirements to our degree programmes for graduates of QQI awards is a full major award.  A record of achievements does not meet these minimum entry standards. Standard Entry Requirement
Standard entry requirements are published for each programme on the Dorset College website and in the relevant course brochures. The QQI entry requirements are determined based on the National Framework of Qualification guidelines.

Protection of Enrolled  Learners
Dorset College has arrangements in place to ensure the Protection of Enrolled Learners (PEL) in the event of a cessation of programmes by the college.   These arrangements will ensure a smooth continuance of programmes for the learner.  The arrangements will comply with Section 65(4)(a) of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 in respect of learners on a programme  leading to a QQI Award.  

The Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training)  Act 2012 Part 6  requires requires that all programmes of 3 months or more duration have in place arrangements for the Protection of Enrolled Learners to ensure learners have the opportunity to complete their programme of study. We confirm that PEL arrangements are in place between this organisation and the named Colleges outlined: PEL LIST   PEL LIST 2
