Description

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to communicate verbally and non-verbally in a comprehensive range of everyday tasks and in work-related tasks independently and/or in a supervisory capacity.

At the end of the module learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and competency to communicate effectively in the workplace/ECCE setting
  • Understanding of current issues in communications/information technology relevant to an ECCE setting
  • Display improved listening, writing, research, and oral skills as well as reading techniques in both a personal and professional capacity
  • Acknowledge the impact of non-verbal communication in daily activities
  • Understand current communication issues, trends, and challenges relevant to ECCE settings
  • Understand changes in legislation, government intervention, and globalisation
  • Enhance professional skills through formal/informal working group activities, discussions, presentations, team activities
  • Exhibit qualities necessary for working and learning in ECCE
  • Be responsible for learning and working independently
