Description

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill, and competence to utilise Applied Behaviour Analysis in supporting people with intellectual or learning disabilities.

At the end of the module learners will be able to:

  • Explain Applied Behavioural Analysis
  • History of ABA - I. Pavlov, J.B. Watson, B.F. Skinner
  • Principle of conditioning
  • Principles of ABA - with a particular focus on reinforcement
  • Antecedent – Behaviour – Consequence (A-B-C) framework used to analyze behaviour
  • The relationship between the social and physical environment and behaviour
  • Overview of prompting procedures
