This unique course introduced the learner to the key concepts and strategies that retailers must develop in order to ensure they retain a viable presence in the marketplace. Retail itself is going through rapid change and a key purpose of this course is to identify the unique, and often, very interesting challenges and opportunities which retailers need to be able to respond to and capitalise on.
Core areas of study
The course introduces the learner to areas such as customer relationship management, service quality, customer loyalty strategies, service complaint solutions, people management and retail operations. Guest lectures from well known retailers will be delivered as part of the course.
There is no specific academic entry requirement for this course though it is likely that applicants for this course will have a specific interest in the retail environment.
Project submission- this comprises a group-based project which addresses a retail marketing challenge in a real company scenario. Learners are encouraged to use their own area of employment if they wish to.
