Applying to Dorset College

Joining one of our courses is the first step for a rewarding and unique educational experience in Dublin

To apply to Dorset College you will need to do the following:

  1. Complete the Dorset College Application Form in full. Dorset College Application Form can be downloaded by clicking here for online, pdf, ms-word version.
  2. Prepare all your educational documents (High School and University, if applicable) for submission with your application form. Please note: Only original or attested copies of your documents can be accepted with your application.
  3. Prepare a C.V./Resume detailing your academic/work history year-by-year with no gaps.
  4. Include an original or an attested copy score sheet of an internationally recognised English Language Test such as IELTS/TOEFL (taken in the last two years) and/or proof that your education was conducted in English (letter from the School/College required).
  5. Provide two reference letters in sealed envelopes, signed on the flap by the referee.
  6. Include copies of passport pages detailing passport number, personal details, photograph, date of place and issue and all visa stamps.
  7. Include a course deposit fee of EURO €300.00
  8. Send all documents to the College.
  9. You will receive an email to confirm receipt of your documents.
  10. If all is in order, you will receive a Provisional Offer Letter within 2 weeks. If additional documentation is required, you will be contacted by email.
  11. Your Provisional Offer Letter details the course fees, which you are required to pay in full by Swift Transfer (TT). You must ensure that all bank transfer fees are paid at source.
  12. When you have paid your fees to Dorset College – the account details are outlined below, please fax a copy of the Transfer (TT) form signed and stamped by your bank, to the International Office at +353 1 8308079 or email to dci@dorset-college.ie- This is evidence that the fees have been transferred.

  13. Upon receipt of your tuition fees, the college will issue a letter showing that the student has been accepted on to the course and the duration of that course. The visa application letter will also state that all course, medical insurance and host family fees have been paid to the college.  You can then use this letter to apply for your Study Visa.
  14. When you apply for your Study Visa you are given a Visa Reference Number.
  15. You should email the number to the International Office at dci@dorset-college.ie.  We will follow up on your case with the Irish Department of Justice – the Irish Government Department responsible for issuing Study Visas.
  16. When your visa is approved, please inform the International Office immediately so that we can update our records.
  17. You should then make your travel arrangements to come to Ireland and inform the International Office of your arrival details. If you require a pick-up from the airport, please inform the International Office so that we can arrange this for you.

  19. There will be induction/orientation for all international students before the start of term and you will be informed about this closer to the time.
  20. It is not possible to predict the approval or refusal date of a visa application, so the college will give the option of registering for a later course if a visa is not issued on time. If your visa application is refused by the Department of Justice the student can request the reasons for refusal and can appeal the decision. Dorset College will refund all fees except for a course deposit of €300.00.
