Master CIW Website Designer Course

The course, Master CIW Designers develop and maintain Web sites using authoring and scripting languages, create content and digital media, and employ standards and technologies for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce Web sites. 

CIW Web Foundations Associate
The CIW Web Foundations Associate exam validates the basic hands-on skills and knowledge that a professional is expected to understand and use. Foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, Web authoring using XHTML, and job skills such as project management.

CIW Web Design Specialist
The CIW Web Design Specialist exam validates human-factor principles in designing, implementing and maintaining hypertext-based Web sites using authoring and scripting languages, content creation and management tools, and digital media tools.  

CIW E-Commerce Specialist
The CIW E-Commerce Specialist exam focuses on standards, technologies and practices for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce models. This certification addresses relationships among marketing, promotion, customer service, user interaction, purchasing methods and secure transactions by using SSL and SET, payment gateways, inventory control, shipping and order information, and site performance testing and evaluation.

Pre-requisites

Entry to the CIW Wesite Designer course -No prior experience using the Internet, developing Website pages or configuring networks is necessary. However, students should be familiar with an operating system such as Microsoft Windows XP before taking this course. The CIW Foundations courseware does not provide entry-level computer literacy. Rather, it builds upon computer literacy training and certifications.

Course Aim

The aim of the CIW Wesite Designer course is to demonstrate the skills and knowledge to:
  • Configure e-mail clients and to provide guidelines for communicating effectively over the internet
  • To use the internet for design and business related functions
  • To implement a genuine transaction-enabled business-to-consumer website
  • To examine strategies and products available for building electronic commerce sites

Assessment

Candidates must pass three CIW On-Line Examinations.
