FETAC Train the Trainer Level 6

This FETAC Train The Trainer course will provide the skills, insight and knowledge to manage training and development in a professional manner. The Training Course will develop an awareness of the context for training and development, and the key issues that impact on its planning and delivery. This Train The Trainer course will enable training and development professionals to develop their expertise to design, understand, identify, deliver and evaluate training within their organisation.

The Train the Trainer course is ideal for those wishing to work in the field of training and development or those who wish to take up a training position within their organisation.

Course Aim

The Aim of the Train The Trainer Course is to:

  • Understand different learning styles
  • Understand the functions and processes of learning and training
  • Evaluate different approaches to training
  • Appreciate the importance of training on an individual, social and economic level
  • Work effectively with a range of learner groups
  • Design, deliver and evaluate training programmes
  • Develop and implement appropriate assessment methods

Train The Trainer: Theory of Training and Adult Learning

  • To develop an understanding of the theory of training and adult learning.

Train The Trainer: The Role of the Trainer

  • To provide the trainees with the skills and knowledge which will enable them to understand the subject matter and identify the professional requirements of the role of the trainer.

Train The Trainer: Training Needs Analysis & Programme Design

  • To provide the trainees with the skills and knowledge which will enable them to understand the subject matter and identify the learning objectives of prioritising learning needs in programme design.

Train The Trainer: Preparing for Training Delivery

  • To provide the participants with the skills and knowledge which will enable them understand the subject matter and identify the learning objectives of preparation in training delivery.

Train The Trainer: Delivery and Assessment

  • To provide the participants with the skills and knowledge which will enable them understand the subject matter and apply the learning objectives of the different stages of training delivery and assessment.

Train The Trainer: Evaluation of Training

  • To provide the participants with the skills and knowledge which will enable them understand the subject matter and identify the learning objectives of delivering & evaluating training.  To be able to evaluate and implement a programme improvement plan based on training delivery.

Assessment

A combination of module appropriate assessment procedures will facilitate the assessment of learning outcomes of the train the trainer course.  Participants will be expected to complete an Assignment (50%) and Skills Demonstration (50%).
